Investors shouldn't let worries about Apple 's iPhone orders keep them out of the stock's likely run higher, CNBC's Jim Cramer said Thursday.

The production cuts are a major blow for the brand-new iPhone 8, which earlier in the week was reportedly being outsold by last year's iPhone 7.

In fact, the iPhone X is arguably the iPhone 8's largest rival, as while Android handsets are often technically superior in hardware terms than iPhones, Apple's iOS has a very dedicated following, which is why previous iPhone models have sold well despite the lack of QHD displays and cutting-edge design. Gartner and KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predict the November release date, and possible limited quantities at launch, will push stronger sales of the iPhone X into 2018.

Plus, the shadow of the looming iPhone X appears to be tamping down interest in the iPhone 8.

According to a new report published by Reuters, more people in the us are buying the 2016 Apple iPhone 7 as compared to the new iPhone 8, which was unveiled in September.

That could mean that shipment numbers could total just five to six million units per month in November and December, well below the estimated demand for 50 million units of the other new release, the iPhone X, when preorders begin on October 27.

Apple (NASDAQ AAPL) traded down 2.82% during mid-day trading on Tuesday, reaching $155.26. After all, a production cut this early isn't something we see from Apple every year.

The first batch of iPhone X devices has already been shipped out from Foxconn Electronics' site in Zhengzhou (Henan, China), said the sources.

Can the iPhone X Make Up the Slack? The iPhone X, with its edge-to-edge screen and new form factor, is the new flagship phone from the company.

"Why are there two distinct models in Apple's iPhone portfolio?"

While the iPhone 8 isn't doing as well as expected, it might be due to the release of the iPhone X. Apple will start taking iPhone X pre-orders next week and will release the smartphone next month starting at $999.
