'Secret Superstar' witnesses a strong jump at the box office

Now, Secret Superstar may have an altogether different plotline but has a similar setting of a professional (Aamir Khan) helping sort a few things for a young girl (Zaira Wasim).

The star-studded "Golmaal Again" earned INR 30.14 crore on its first day of screening, meanwhile "Secret Superstar" collected INR 14.10 on the second day of run, Indian media reports estimated. The fans are praising Zaira Wasim for her excellent performance in the film where she played a role of Musil girl named Insia who dreams to become a singer.

The film also showcases Aamir Khan in a quirky avatar as Shakti Kumaarr, his never seen before look has poured in enormous response for the actor. During the Diwali festive season, people go to theatres to laugh and enjoy and Golmaal is certainly their best bet.

The tenth collaboration between actor Ajay Devgn and director Rohit Shetty is giving tough competition to Aamir Khan's film. Secret Superstar was released on the day of Diwali, October 19th and critics opined that it showed Aamir Khan's confidence in the project.

According to DNA, before the release of Secret Superstar, Aamir had forced multiplex owners to give his film half of the screens, even though it is a much smaller film when compared to Golmaal Again.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the numbers on Sunday.

More than Golmaal Again's massive collections, it'll be interesting to see where this movie will turn its fate at the box office.
