Valve Holds Steam Lunar New Year Sale, Makes Changes To Wishlist

The latest software update for Steam has added more sorting and filtering options to the Steam Wishlist. The next Steam sale is due to kick off later today, in the form of the Lunar New Year sale! The above changes are now live on Steam, and it sounds like Valve will be making further improvements as it receives more feedback on the new-look wishlists.

With every Steam sale comes a wide variety of games that are a steal for their price, relatively speaking. However, alongside the sale, Valve has also introduced an update to the Steam Wishlist for customers to make use of as they browse the store's newly discounted wares. Items on your wishlist will now show the platforms, tags, overall review score, and current price with discount. There are filters too, which let you streamline games you've pegged as interesting into groups of Early Access and full releases.

We've also heard a lot of requests for the ability to filter your Wishlist by tags or genres to help find games when you're in the mood for a strategy game or an RPG.

Steam has decided it's time for you to add to your backlog of unplayed games.

Note: The combination of filters and sort-orders that you pick will automatically save and apply when you visit your Wishlist again in the future. However, we found that there are cases where it isn't always clear which version of the game should be added to the cart.

The changes to the Wishlist come as a result of feedback from users.

Another feature is the ability to add games straight to your cart from the Wishlist, rather than being directed to their store page first.
