That turns the Alexa app into a VoIP service that lets you keep in touch with anyone that owns an Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Spot, Echo Show, or any other device running the Alexa app. To get Alexa calling and messaging on your tablet, you just need to download the latest version of the app. This would make it easier to ask Alexa to perform several actions a lot less repetitive, even though you are yet unable to use multiple commands in just one sentence.

The blue light on your Echo, according to CNET, will light up whenever Alexa is listening to a Follow-Up-Mode question.

However, with the new opt-in feature, Alexa will listen for five seconds after the first response.

"We are changing that phrase to be "Alexa, can you laugh?' which is less likely to have false positives, and we are disabling the short utterance 'Alexa, laugh". You no longer need to say "Hey, Alexa" every time you send out a command. For some people, this might be more of a hassle than it is worth, but other people will love taking advantage of the new feature. Off by default, both parties will need to approve the feature on a contact-by-contact basis. You can also enable Drop In for when you want to instantly connect with other Echo devices in your home from your tablet. The new features are available right now through the Alexa app.

$30 is already a terrific price for this Alexa enabled surge protector, but we've got a special deal for you to check out. Are you excited that you can do everything over Wi-Fi and not waste your data?
