Gary Oldman's Oscar win slammed by ex-wife whom he allegedly abused

Darkest Hour star and Best Actor victor Gary Oldman arrives with wife Gisele Schmidt at the Oscars ceremony on 4 March 2018 at Los Angeles.

"I can see how coming out with a statement to combat an allegation must look".

In his letter, Gulliver wrote: "I was there at the time of the 'incident, ' so I'd like to make this radiantly clear: it didn't happen. Anyone who says it did is lying", he added.

In the resurfaced Daily Mail interview Gulliver referenced in his statement, Fiorentino called her four year marriage to Oldman a "nightmare".

Her accusations included Oldman being an alcoholic and beating her with a telephone in front of their children. A report was filed by Fiorentino, now 50, with the Los Angeles Superior Court in 2001, though police found no cause to pursue charges. "My having lived, full time with my father should be in itself, proof enough". "And Gary and I are friends, so its been very good and been very nice for our son, I think", she added. "There never has been any guilt". Those haters seem hellbent on convincing the public that Gary Oldman belongs in the rogues gallery of true abuser predators. Following the Oscars, she alluded to her own allegations as well as the rape accusations against Kobe Bryant, who won an Oscar for his animated short "Dear Basketball".

In 2001, Fiorentino accused Oldman of physical and emotional abuse during their marriage.

The third ex-wife of Oldman, Donya Fiorentino, questioned the award-giving body's move to award her former husband and the National Basketball Association player of a gold statue, blatantly making her voice heard.

The young man also said that he did not wish to speak ill of his mother, who has been sad and troubled for most of her life. I want to apologize to her for my behavior that night and for the consequences she has suffered in the past year. "I lost my self-esteem, I was broken", she said. E!'s decision to parade its show pony Seacrest rather than to allow another interviewer to take the lead resulted in relatively few big-name red carpet interviews for the network and some awkward moments like when Seacrest attempted to interview All the Money in the World nominee Christopher Plummer while avoiding the fact that the legendary actor replaced serial predator Kevin Spacey at the 11th hour before the film's release.

He said he hopes "only to protect my father's character, as a person and as an actor".

A year ago, the world watched uncomfortably as Brie Larson handed Hollywood's highly accolade to Casey Affleck, a man accused of sexually harassing behavior and named in two lawsuits. "In such a momentous year for his career, my father should finally be able to enjoy himself". Between 2008 and 2015, he was married to Alexandra Edenborough and has been married to Gisele Schmidt since 2017.
