And though he didn't end up fighting former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar at UFC 222, something McGregor claims he proposed, he sent the 36-year-old well-wishes after an upset loss to Brian Ortega. But will that happen?

The undefeated Ortega, filling in for an injured Max Holloway, handed Edgar his first-ever stoppage loss. After Ortega's historic win, Holloway tweeted out the comment below, which, you don't have to be a genius to conclude that he wants to fight Ortega at the July 7th event. So, done-and-done right? Not so fast. When Holloway was forced out of this fight with an injury, however, Edgar accepted a late-notice battle with surging contender Brian Ortega, putting his well-deserved title shot on the line in an incredibly high-risk move. "When he's cleared and he's ready to fight, we'll make that fight immediately".

While he does believe that he is next for UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway, Ortega takes a very cerebral approach to the situation. But it could be that the promotion already has some other match-ups in mind for that card.

The UFC is back in "Sin City" tonight in Las Vegas, Nevada from the T-Mobile Arena for UFC 222 on pay-per-view (PPV).
