In case you really enjoyed the transfer saga which dominated the summer of 2015 headlines, and long for more coverage of this variety, well Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has provided the material for you.

Manchester United star David De Gea has always been pursued by the European champions.

De Gea, 27, has once again been the star performer for Manchester United with the Spanish goalkeeper in sublime form all season and clearly in the conversation (if not dominating it) as the best stopper on the planet right now.

"I see him [De Gea] here".

But Mourinho has told his former club to look elsewhere for a new number one, insisting De Gea will not be leaving Old Trafford.

"I don't know what Madrid's intentions are, but if I was them I would be thinking about another player".

"I think he will stay", Mourinho told La Sexta ahead of Tuesday's Champions League meeting with Sevilla.

Madrid, who nearly signed Athletic Bilbao keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in January, have also been linked with Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois.

United have an option to extend De Gea's deal for a further year.

De Gea has kept an incredible 19 clean sheets in 36 games across all competitions this season.
