Demi Lovato is still in the hospital six days after she overdosed on an unknown drug nearly a week ago over "complications".

A new report from TMZ says that the singer has had to stay in the hospital because she is "very, very sick" with extreme nausea and a high fever, both allegedly complications related to the original overdose.

Lovato received Narcan, an emergency treatment for narcotic overdoses at her home, to counter the effects of opioids.

A source tells ET that Lovato plans to check into a rehab system once she's released.

"She is under the care of medical experts and is expected to make a full recovery", the source said.

Last week it was reported that Lovato's overdose symptoms were so severe, her life was in danger. She was reportedly treated with Narcan - a medication created to rapidly reverse opioid overdose - before being rushed to a local hospital.

In June 2017, she released a new song called "Sober", on which she revealed she had relapsed after six years of sobriety. "She's a attractive girl and a great, great artist", Sean Paul told the Daily Star. A number of music stars like Ariana Grande and Kesha also sent their love to Lovato on social media. Anything could happen to the brain in an overdose, and in Demi's case, her ability to sing could be lost.' Oh no!

In a statement last week, family members said Lovato will get plenty of support, and rehab once she's back on her feet. "Demi doesn't want to die and she's very grateful to be alive. However, it took her manager, Phil McIntyre, and others saying they'd walk away from her if she didn't get the help to convince her".

Wilmer Valderamma is Demi Lovato's ex-boyfriend, but he's been by her side since she first entered hospital.
