Dallas-raised musician Demi Lovato was rushed to a hospital on Tuesday after an apparent drug overdose, multiple media outlets reported.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded at 11:22 a.m. PT to a medical emergency call on the 8000 block of Laurel View Drive in Hollywood Hills, a department spokeswoman said.

Lovato has never shied away from talking about her struggles with alcohol and substance abuse.

Demi has been battling addictions for several years, and recently opened up about relapsing in her song "Sober". The singer had been sober for six years prior to her relapse, leading to the surprise release of "Sober", in which she apologizes for letting down herself, her family and her fans.

"Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers, and support", the spokesperson said in a statement to Variety.

Lovato is one of the world's biggest selling artists and has had chart-topping hits such as Give Your Heart a Break, Cool for the Summer, Heart Attack, and Sorry Not Sorry.

Eventually, Lovato's management team and Phil McIntyre were able to help her get back on the road to recovery, telling her they'd stop representing her, and eventually taking her phone from her.

Fellow musicians and celebrities, including Ariana Grande, Brad Paisley and Ellen DeGeneres began taking to Twitter, showing an outpouring of support for Lovato.

She dated MMA fighter Guilherme "Bomba" Vasconcelos a year ago, according to Who's Dated Who.

Lovato was scheduled to perform in Atlantic City on Thursday and in Toronto on Sunday.

"Our thoughts go out to Demi and her family".

In her 2017 documentary Simply Complicated, she said her first encounter with drinking and partying was in high school, and it all escalated during her Disney Channel days.

Many are keeping Demi Lovato close to their hearts.

'Like all of you I am reeling at the news about Demi, ' Tweeted out Nick.

Lovato spent three months in rehab in 2010, where she sought treatment for bipolar disorder and bulimia. "We wanted to see Demi".
