Manchester City v Borussia Dortmund: Pep Guardiola praises Joe Hart

There was a healthy crowd of 34,629 inside Chicago's Soldier Field Stadium and, although a young City side held their own early on, Dortmund created the better chances, with Gotze pulling the strings together with Pulisic.

The comments come following a pledge by the CIty boss to "find a solution" to Hart's predicament.

That was to be expected though as so many of City's players are on post World Cup holiday and have not yet joined up with the squad.

City began their ICC campaign against Borussia Dortmund with a makeshift side filled with teenagers in addition to a few more recognised faces including club-record signing Riyad Mahrez, and are being well compensated for it.

Hart is entering the final year of his contract but despite making his first appearance for City since August 2016 as a second half substitute in the International Champions Cup defeat to Borussia Dortmund on Friday, he wants a permanent move away from the club. We spoke during this week and the courage, intensity and desire to play was very good.

Manchester City is yet to welcome their main players into the first-team due to their participation in the World Cup in Russian Federation, but new summer signing Riyad Mahrez was involved in the defeat.

Hart is yet to play in the Premier League for Guardiola and spent last season on loan with West Ham.

"It will be a good experience for them (the young players) to realise they can compete (at senior level) and play well".

"I'm happy that we won and happy to play against my old club. I'm glad he has faith in me", he added.

"I had a point to prove", said Sancho.

"We did many good things. The players did very well and I am so satisfied with the performance of these guys". "I've got a lot of good relationships with the boys in the team and it was nice to see them do well".

Volt-coloured socks with a dark blue band around the shin complete the fresh new look for the Premier League champions. "We prefer to win the game but we know what is going to happen in pre-season".
