Nine, including minor girl, shot in Torontos Greektown, gunman dead

A young woman is dead and 13 other people have been injured after a mass shooting on The Danforth Sunday night.

Toronto police said a total of nine people were shot and said the suspected shooter is dead. The circumstances of his death.

Police also said a young girl is in critical condition.

"I saw at least four people shot", he said.

The condition of the other victims is not known yet. Police sirens can be heard also and it is now believed that the shooter was firing at police.

Toronto EMS Deputy Commander Shawn Staff said between five and fifteen people were transported to local hospitals, including two adult trauma centres and one pediatric hospital.

Toronto police said a shooting took place along Danforth Avenue near Logan Avenue.

The Toronto Sun reported that police were dispatched at about 10 p.m. near Christina's restaurant.

Toronto police said they have no motive for the shooting, and asked any eyewitnesses to come forward or anyone with video to provide it to police.

Emergency services remain at the scene.

Toronto Police Chief Saunders has updated media from scene.

The victims were reportedly scattered over several blocks.

Then she was told to run to the back of the restaurant.
