Paul Rudd on the Writing Process of ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’

Hank Pym, Evangeline Lilly and Hope van Dyne are on the outside, monitoring him.

"Ant-Man and The Wasp" takes place before Thanos takes on the Avengers in "Infinity War". Ant-Man shrinks, entering the quantum realm via a "quantum tunnel", gathers the particles, and asks to get sized back up.

The first post-credits scene finds Scott venturing back into the Quantum Realm to gather more healing particles to continue Ghost's treatments, with Hope, Hank, and Janet staying behind to operate the Quantum Gateway tech, which is now stashed in the back of Luis' van.

To dodge dropping any spoilers for those who haven't seen it yet, this article will not make mention of exactly what takes place in Ant-Man and The Wasp's post-credits scenes.

Not only does this shockingly boost Thanos' death toll, it also leaves Scott trapped in the quantum realm. The first scene comes midway through the credits and is connected to "Avengers: Infinity War". Let us know in the comment section below!

"I can't say really what are seeds about Avengers 4, or about a potential other Ant-Man movie, but I can say that things are definitely in a movie for a reason", Reed said. Scott was warned to avoid any time vortexes in the Quantum Realm, and that seems like a very specific piece of information to drop on the audience. We're taken to the Lang house-eerily deserted, with the TV cut to an emergency broadcasting channel.

Director Peyton Reed told TheWrap that in figuring out what the Quantum Realm could be and where it could lead, he realized the possibilities were endless. Upstairs, the giant ant "stand in" Hope programmed to mimic Scott's routine keeps on keeping on, oblivious to the apocalypse, playing Scott's drum set.

Ant-Man and the Wasp marks the 20th installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and for much of the last decade, the blockbuster saga has been a box office-conquering behemoth - a series of nested franchises in constant concentric motion, with an increasingly unwieldy narrative ambition to match its growing financial stakes.

According to leaked set photos from Avengers 4 and popular theories, it's possible that there will be some time-trickery going on in the highly anticipated sequel.

It's also worth considering that the Quantum Realm may have literally been out of reach of Thanos's snap all together, and thus, in one way or another, immune to the Infinity Stones' powers.
