Responding on NBC, Manigault Newman said, "I think it's sad that with all the things that's going on in the country that he would take time out to insult me and to insult my intelligence".

What has the White House said?

"Wacky Omarosa, who got fired three times on The Apprentice, now got fired for the last time".

Kelly's reasons for sacking Manigault-Newman were later reported to include repeated abuse of the White House's vehicle service, intended for use by VIPs, as a chauffeur pool for her short daily commute. She was the highest-ranking African-American on the White House staff. But in a recent interview with NBC News, she claimed that she had actually personally listened to the tape after her book was finalized.

The White House is furious, in the lead up to Tuesday's publication of "Unhinged: An Insider's Account of the Trump White House", Manigault Newman has released several audio recordings she secretly taped while working as a senior adviser to Trump. Manigault Newman alleged that Trump's former press secretary Sean Spicer signed a non-disclosure agreement similar to the one she was offered, which Manigault Newman says would have prohibited her from making any comments that could damage the president. After her stint on Celebrity Big Brother - where she compared the WH to a plantation, among other things - Manigault announced the book, which was described by publisher Simon & Schuster as a "stunning tell-all and takedown".

"I told him to try working it out, if possible, because she only said GREAT things about me - until she got fired!"

Neither the White House nor the Trump campaign has directly addressed the hush-money claim, but White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders broadly called Manigault Newman, who is now promoting her forthcoming book, a disgruntled ex-employee who was spreading "lies and false accusations".

Months after the wedding, Politico reported that Omarosa brought her bridal party of 39 to the White House following her ceremony for a photo shoot in the Rose Garden and West Wing.

But in an interview Friday afternoon with NPR, Omarosa appeared to contradict her own book, saying that she has heard the tape on which Mr. Trump said the N-word. She made it up.

Manigault was hired as the Trump White House's director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison, but was sacked, reportedly, for using the White House vehicle service as "an office pick-up and drop-off service".

"It's come to my attention over the last few months that there's been some pretty, in my opinion, significant integrity issues related to you", Kelly is heard saying, before adding that if she makes it a "friendly departure" then she can "go on without any type of difficulty in the future relative to your reputation". He told the Associated Press he had "never heard of a more serious breach of protocol". Omarosa had Zero credibility with the Media (they didn't want interviews) when she worked in the White House. "And as a result, I resigned", she said.

Ms. Manigault Newman later expressed willingness to cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election and possible collusion between Trump's campaign and Moscow - and indicated that she had already been contacted by his office.

That crisis showed the need for a fast and secure communications center to handle large amounts of national security information coming in from many places to the president.
