The highest end iPhone will have a 6.5-inch display and come as one of the largest smartphones on the market.it will retain Apple's iPhone X glass-backed design as well as its dual camera set up.

Apple is widely expected to unveil a trio of new iPhones that adopt most of the features and design elements of last year's iPhone X.

Documents filed at the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) unsealed earlier this year showed Apple had sought approval for a gold version of its iPhone X, but it never released the colour.

Apple recently sent out invitations to its iPhone event, which will take place on 12 September 2018. We're expecting to see two stainless steel upgrades to the iPhone X, in two different sizes and each with an OLED screen.

The leaked image also shows a new watch face that's chock full of information. However, this is the second year in a row that details about new products leaked at least partly through Apple.

While the norm has been for Apple to livestream their special events, the company has confirmed next month's iPhone event will be viewable live online, as indicated on the company's website.

Every year, around the holiday season, Apple blesses their consumers with a new iPhone. Instead of an iPhone 7s, it jumped straight to an iPhone 8 and an iPhone X (for the number ten, not the letter). It also noted that the Apple Watch 4 will have better compatibility with current watch bands, in case users are looking for additional comfort.

This story was first published on CNN.com, "Apple expected to announce new iPhone and gadgets September 12". This new analog watch face features eight complications. Apple will collect more than $61 billion in revenue in the September quarter, the period when the new iPhones are likely to go on sale, according to data on analysts' estimates compiled by Bloomberg.
