Zinedine Zidane wants to return to football club management and has reportedly set his sights on the Premier League and Manchester United. However following the World Cup in Russian Federation, that opportunity was no longer available.

The report goes on to state that the favoured destination for the former Real Madrid manager is Manchester United.

However, French publication L'Equipe claims Zidane could sensationally become Manchester United's next head coach with growing uncertainty surrounding Jose Mourinho's long-term future.

However, Shaw was named in the starting lineup for Friday's opening match of the new Premier League season and repaid his manager by scoring his first ever senior goal - one which proved to be the victor for United.

1998 World Cup victor Zidane, 46, already has a sparkling managerial CV having won three Champions League titles with Real, as well as La Liga, the UEFA Super Cup twice and the FIFA Club World Cup twice.

During pre-season, Mourinho lamented the lack to acquire priority targets which seemingly aroused tension between him and club Chief Executive Ed Woodward.

The Frenchman has now won the last three Champions League titles in a remarkable run, whilst he has also won one La Liga title, but he made a decision to move on this past summer. However, should Zidane contact the United hierarchy about becoming their manager, they will need to make a quick decision or risk losing the Frenchman to another Premier League club.

Since the shock resignment at Real, Zidane has been linked with the Qatar national team job and a technical advisory role with former club Juventus in before the speculation was quickly dismissed.
