US Ambassador Urges UK to Abandon Support for Iran’s Nuclear Deal

President Donald Trump withdrew the United States from Iran's nuclear deal with world powers in May and last week the usa began restoring sanctions, exacerbating a financial crisis in Iran that has sent its currency tumbling.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said that Trump's abandonment of the nuclear deal was illegal, adding that Tehran would not yield to Washington's renewed campaign to choke Iran's vital oil exports.

Under the multilateral Iran nuclear deal, signed by five permanent UN Security Council Members: US, UK, France, Russia and China plus Germany, known as P5+1, Iran undertook to put limits on its nuclear program in exchange for the removal of nuclear-related sanctions. "I will meet, or not meet, it doesn't matter - it is up to them!" offering direct talks earlier this month, Khamenei tweeted, "THERE WILL BE NO WAR, NOR WILL WE NEGOTIATE WITH THE U.S".

In an August 13 speech, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei addressed a wide range of issues pertaining to his country, from the economic problems and the currency's collapse to the possibility of negotiations with the United States and a military confrontation between the two countries.

Washington over Ankara´s detention of several Americans including an evangelical pastor. He said, "They have a special formula for negotiations, which must be understood and then this question must be answered that will any wise person enter into negotiations according to this formula?" He added that normal negotiations are based on a give and take but that the United States pursues one primary goal in talks and never budges on its primary goal.

"The President has been explicit: any businesses which put their own commercial interests in Iran ahead of the global goodwill risk serious consequences for their trade with the United States", added the U.S. ambassador.

Special courts are being set up to try suspects quickly after Ayatollah Khamenei agreed with a request by Judiciary chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani to swiftly deal with financial criminals.

Ayatollah Khamenei, however, reminded that the campaign should be carried out justly without political noise. "True, even minor corruption is too much but extremism is wrong in all fields". "War will not happen and we will not enter talks".
