Earlier this week, it was reported that Superman star Henry Cavill will be leaving the DC Universe after negotiations to cameo in the upcoming Shazam broke down.

Michael B. Jordan is already acting like a superhero. Although the Hollywood Reporter first broke the story on Wednesday morning, all that could be confirmed throughout the day was that Warner Bros. now has no plans to use the hunky, problematically mustachioed actor in any further DC Universe films.

While the world thinks a new Superman is on the way, Henry Cavill is saying something different.

The Hollywood Reporter's article also claimed that Henry wanted to walk away from the superhero role, because studio executives are now focused on a Supergirl origins movie, which will feature a much younger Superman. More recently, he starred opposite Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible - Fallout.

There has been no word, or tweet, from Michael B. Jordan regarding the Superman speculation.

Soon after the reports surfaced, many took to their social media handles to express their views on the casting of a black actor as Superman, specifically Jordan.

Despite all the reports, fans of Henry Cavill should not feel sad about his future as Superman. Later, however, Cavill's agent Dany Garcia posted on Twitter that the situation was still ongoing leading many to believe that Cavill may still be attached to the Superman role.

Following the rumours, a representative from Warner Bros. said: "We have a great relationship and great respect for Henry Cavill that continues to remain unchanged".
