Samsung has announced the new Galaxy A7, the company's first triple-camera smartphone.

Samsung Electronics announced the new Galaxy A7 smartphone, the latest model of the Galaxy A series, that will be available in the next months.

As such, a triple camera setup would have been something that a Galaxy S flagship would have featured first, before filtering down to cheaper devices. This setup consists of a 24-megapixel autofocus sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra wide sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor with fixed focus and f/2.2 aperture.

The 8MP 120° Ultra Wide Lens spans as much as the human eye so users don't miss out on getting everything they want in the picture.

There's no longer a physical home button with a fingerprint sensor.

The Galaxy A7 sports a 6-inch Full HD Super AMOLED Infinity display with 2220 x 1080p resolution.

Galaxy A7 comes in 4GB RAM/64 internal storage (expanded to 512GB via a microSD slot), 4GB RAM/128 internal storage and 6GB RAM/128 internal storage.

Price of Samsung Galaxy A7 is yet to be announced but the company has stated that the phone would be made available in select European and Asian markets starting this fall, with plans to expand to other global markets in the near future.

As for the battery, the phone will come equipped with a 3,300 mAh battery which we think is slightly on the lower side given its 2018 but hey! gotta keep the price in mind as well. The Galaxy A7 will appeal to consumers in Asia who don't have a huge budget but want a phone with excellent camera capabilities.

The device also comes loaded with some Samsung exclusive features such as Bixby, Samsung Pay and Samsung Health.

Samsung also revealed the Samsung Galaxy J4 Plus, which relies exclusively on face unlock technology.

The second model would be a direct successor to the Galaxy S9 with a 5.8-inch display, dual rear cameras, and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It will be available in four colour variants - Blue, Black, Gold and Pink.

Created to make life more convenient, the Galaxy A7 comes with Bixby, Samsung Pay and Samsung Health. The 24-megapixel main camera is in the middle; beneath it is an 8-megapixel camera with a 120-degree optic lens suited for taking landscape shots.

We do already know, however, that the Galaxy A7 will launch in South Africa in November (no definitive date) with a recommended price tag of R8 499.

Connectivity options on the device include 4G LTE Cat.6, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0 (LE up to 2Mbps), NFC is some regions, GPS/GLONASS, and a micro USB port.
