Nintendo have just announced the Double Helix Nintendo Switch bundle for Fortnite Battle Royale. But for what it's worth, games that need the Switch Online subscription will be marked when you see them in the Nintendo eShop or on Nintendo's website. One of the biggest benefits of Switch Online is the introduction of cloud saves.

The Nintendo Switch Online service release date is here, which means you can start your free trial right now.

Online play and voice chat are only a couple of the features on offer. Were you hoping to display your NES games proudly alongside your modern Switch titles?

But wait, there's more unusual and disappointing news about cloud saves on the Nintendo Switch. But in docked mode, it would be nice to be able to use these full-sized, old-school controllers in place of the tiny and d-pad-free Joy-Cons for everything from Celeste to Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon.

There's also a "Family" option for $34.99 / £31.49 that covers up to eight Nintendo Accounts for an entire year, and is a cost-effective option for even two users partnering up for the subscription. And trust us, you don't want to know why.

There are no dedicated servers for Nintendo Switch Online as of yet so players will have to play using on P2P gaming, which relies on the internet connections of individual players to host matches online, making it a little unreliable. We expect the Android version to follow suit before the Switch update goes live tonight.
