"Over 80 percent more powerful than the best-selling Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K features a new quad core, 1.7GHz processor, delivering a fast streaming experience, quicker load times, and brilliant picture quality".

The company claims that the remote can control power and volume on thousands of televisions, apart from Fire TV devices in India.

Fire TV Stick 4K is available for pre-order on for $50 and will start shipping on October 31 in the USA and Canada.

Amazon's new Fire TV Stick 4K looks like a solid upgrade over the previous model.

Just as the dust is settling on Amazon's bold move into the hi-fi multi-room market, the shopping goliath has announced a new video streamer. The new remote also has power, volume and mute buttons.

The addition of Dolby Vision is particularly notable because most set-top boxes and streaming devices don't support it - including Amazon's Fire TV Cube. Amazon unveiled the Fire TV Stick 4K in the United States a couple of weeks ago, and now, it has brought the same to the sub-continent. Audio isn't forgotten, and you now get full Dolby Atmos support.

The Alexa Voice Remote will start shipping on the same dates for $30 / £30 / €30 when bought separately. Orders will begin shipping on October 31 in the U.S. and Canada. The new remote provides full control over your TV and other home entertainment equipment, and comes along with the ability to use voice commands to find and control content. So move along flappy Fire TV dongle, hello 4K Fire TV Stick. If you have only one Fire TV, your Echo device will pair as soon as you ask Alexa a question that includes Fire TV.

It's been a busy few weeks for Amazon, with a whole new range of Alexa-powered devices launched in late September, and now a new Fire TV Stick 4K revealed today.
