Las Vegas police have reopened a criminal investigation into football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo over an accusation of rape.

Mayorga's lawsuit accuses Ronaldo and his team of taking advantage of her fragile emotional state to coerce her into signing a settlement and nondisclosure agreement in 2009.

Der Spiegel reported that their staff saw a copy of the documents, in which he initially admitted: 'She said no and stop several times.' In later versions of the story, Ronaldo claimed their sexual encounter was consensual.

Under pressure from Ronaldo's "fixers", Mayorga settled the case "in exchange for a payment of $375,000 and non-disclosure of the sexual assault", the lawsuit said.

Earlier, had reported how Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo emphatically denied claims he had unlawful intercourse with an American woman nine years ago, branding it "fake news".

"What they said today, fake - fake news", the footballer said. It's normal. They want to be famous - to say my name.

"I am a happy man and all good". Despite protesting multiple times, saying no, and attempting to block him, Mayorga says Ronaldo anally raped her.

Mayorga met Ronaldo at the now-closed Rain nightclub, inside the Palms Hotel and Casino on June 13, 2009, the complaint says. However, documents revealed by the publication show that Ronaldo, when originally asked by his legal representation, acknowledged that Mayorga repeatedly denied his advances and said "no" during the encounter. A nurse who examined her said the same thing, she says in the lawsuit.

"A medical exam was conducted". She said she refused and it was then that Ronaldo assaulted her.

Lawyers representing a woman claiming to have been raped by Cristiano Ronaldo are preparing to go into more detail about the allegations.

She has since quit her teaching job and gone into hiding. However, upon Der Spiegel's reporting on the documents previous year, Ronaldo's lawyers denied the existence of the letter, leading Mayorga's current legal representation to question if the settlement was ever fulfilled.

Mayorga has now launched a lawsuit against the former Manchester United player.

"Every day, she lives it", Mayorga's mother Cheryl says in the Der Spiegel piece.

"Basically he. he begged me to touch his penis for 30 seconds", she said.

The Portuguese striker, who is a married father of four, left Real Madrid this year to join Juventus for 100 million euros ($117 million).

Ronaldo is one of the biggest names in sports globally.

Ronaldo's girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, is standing by him as well.
