Dodgers Host Boston Red Sox In Los Angeles

Coming off of a 2-0 lead, the Boston Red Sox player seemed to have a rubber arm as he pitched 97 times throughout the night to try and win for the third straight time against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Nathan Eovaldi, who had been set to start Game 4, made his third relief appearance of the week and pitched a ideal inning, topping 101 miles per hour with his fastball.

The 24-year-old rookie right-hander needed 26 pitches to retire the first three batters he faced - the most thrown in a 1-2-3 inning in post-season history.

But the Dodgers would answer in similarly wild fashion in the bottom of the inning when Yasiel Puig lined a drive to second baseman Ian Kinsler who could not make the throw to first, the error allowing Muncy to score.

Kinsler stumbled on the outfield grass when he gloved Puig's grounder up the middle and his off-balance throw was very wide of Vazquez, a catcher playing first.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will have a couple of advantages in Game 3 of the World Series on Friday night. Instead he became Boston's record-tying ninth pitcher when he entered to start the 12th inning. "So just the focus-on-one-game-at-a-time mentality".

Dodgers: After the game, the team said its starter would be announced later.

Jackie Bradley Jr. ties the game at 1-1 for the Red Sox with a solo home run in the eighth inning. "World Series. Welcome to LA", he wrote alongside the snap.

"Considering where we're at, down 2-1, home crowd behind us, I think there's a little bit of momentum on our side".

Kenta Maeda walked the first two Red Sox to start the 15th and didn't allow a run. We'll get to the next hard hit ball in a second, but for a moment, let's talk about what came in between. Muncy, who also reached on a leadoff walk, moved up when Nunez, of course. went into the stands catching a foul pop for the second out. The Dodgers will go with Rich Hill, another ex-Yankee.

The Dodgers munched on peanut butter and banana sandwiches provided by a team employee, and hung the bananas to produce fruitful luck - harkening back to the rally banana credited by Enrique Hernandez for helping end a 35-inning scoreless streak three years ago. The Sox staff kept close watch Friday, asking him each inning how he felt. It is the only World Series game to go 18 innings.

The Dodgers' victory early Saturday morning cut the Red Sox' lead in the series to 2-1 and put Los Angeles in a promising position for Game 4, which Eovaldi had been slated to start.
