The direct-to-consumer service, which launches in late 2019, will feature original and library content across Disney's major entertainment brands: Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. The same Diego Luna, who played the character in the movie, will play Andor in the series. With Disney already known to be pulling its Marvel content from Netflix next year, it's likely that Disney+ will become the only source to watch the various Marvel TV shows at. Luna said that he's looking forward to reprising the character, and that "this new exciting format will give us a chance to explore this character more deeply". Disney+ is scheduled to launch in the U.S.in late 2019. Company CEO Bob Iger unveiled the name during a Thursday earnings call. In effect, the platform will broadcast a prequel spin-off Rogue One: "A Star Wars Story ".

Disney said a year ago that it plans to launch its own streaming service in 2019 and would pull its first-run movies from Netflix to put them on a Disney-branded service. The most notable additions are a pair of live-action series Disney is planning for two of its biggest franchises, Star Wars and the MCU. There will also new new episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, one of the most anticipated revivals for animated shows to date.

Disney may decide to do a cross-over between the Rogue One prequel and The Mandalorian, though they are set in different eras of Star Wars.

The Disney streaming service was announced in 2017, as the company wanted more control over its properties. There are Star Wars shows in the works, as well as new Marvel projects, including a Loki TV series with Tom Hiddleston.

The best part truly is the fact that Diego Luna returns to reprize his own role!

The Loki rumor was first reported weeks ago along with a developing series focused on Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch (which Disney notably did not confirm in its press release), but now it's official.
