Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand believes Rashford warrants a regular starting spot in the Red Devils team to continue his development at Old Trafford.

The Rossoneri giants have been linked with Bailly amid claims they are looking to add to their rearguard when the transfer window reopens.

"Maybe not having the pressure of being favourites, of being at home with the expectation of taking the game to opponents, will see them express themselves a little more".

Mourinho has spent more than £60 million on centre-backs since taking over in 2016 but Smalling was still trusted to play almost 50 games last season and the 28-year-old has been a regular in the team again this term. Whether he's fallen out with the manager, I don't know.

"In my first season we won three trophies - the Europa League [and League Cup and Community Shield] - and the Europa League was the main goal so as to get back in the Champions League as well".

"I feel very comfortable here with Atletico", he said.

The Juve boss also said that now they can shift their focus to Manchester United games. To have a top player like him is always a positive and it was a great achievement by the club to have signed him.

Jose Mourinho's visitors are conceding an average of 1.50 Expected Goals in their Premier League and Champions League matches and such generosity is likely to be punished on Wednesday night.

"He played for Juventus (on the left) and I spoke before about his connection with (Anthony) Martial".

Manchester United are on a two-game winless run in the group stage after beating BSC Young Boys on matchday one of Group H.

However, according to Juventus' ex-custodian, even Ronaldo will not be able to deliver the ultimate prize to the Italian club, as long as his arch-nemesis is in the competition.

"When we make a defensive mistake, instead of forgetting and keeping playing, it is something that triggers instability".

"But it is fantastic to have this feeling that it doesn't matter the result, we know the game is not over".
