Chelsea vs Fulham, Premier League

Chelsea will now tackle Fulham this weekend in the Premier League fixture.

"New Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri goes back to Stamford Bridge, and he is sure to get a good reception", Lawrenson told BBC Sport.

Mark Lawrenson is backing Chelsea FC to bounce back from their Wembley disappointment with a 2-0 victory over Fulham at Stamford Bridge in Sunday's early kick-off. I am very happy with this.

"I spoke with him for three days - I don't remember exactly - one month ago, or 45 days ago", said Sarri, who dined with Ranieri afterwards in the Chelsea training ground canteen.

Former Chelsea and current Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri has praised current Blues boss Maurizio Sarri, saying his countryman is a great coach who is worthy to be in a top club like the west London side.

"He played very well, but the type of match was for his characteristics", Sarri said. I already know which games I will play, and I am ready for it. "Obviously in January I can sign [a pre-contract agreement] with whoever I want, and probably this will attract many clubs".

Finally, the showdown on the weekend will pit Ranieri's side against Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard and while the 67-year-old fondly remembers the Belgian superstar's strike in a different London derby in 2016 that "clinched" the title for Leicester, he hopes Hazard will have a quiet game against the Cottagers come Sunday. I am always eager to play but it is the coach's decision.

"Usually he has a team very risky at counter-attacks, like in Leicester, but not only in Leicester".

Giroud doesn't need to score goals to be important in his defence.

The third spot should be taken up by Ross Barkley, whose upturn in form combined with Mateo Kovacic's indifferent displays might help Sarri make the decision. The big problem was the team. He has to be very, very strong; I want him to improve his pressing, and that's it.
