Even Adrian Peterson Thinks The Redskins Need To Sign Colin Kaepernick

A few weeks after losing starting quarterback Alex Smith to multiple leg fractures, the Washington Redskins lost backup QB Colt McCoy for the remainder of the 2018 season thanks to a fractured fibula.

McCoy is the second Redskins quarterback injured this year.

Kaepernick has not played since January 2017 after protesting against racial injustice and police brutality by kneeling during the U.S. national anthem. Kaepernick filed a collusion grievance against the National Football League in October of 2017, alleging an organized effort to keep him off a roster as a result of his protests.

O'Connell did coach in San Francisco for one season when Kaepernick played for the 49ers.

For those that believe in karma, it was somewhat fitting for a team that declined to sign anthem kneeler Colin Kaepernick but did add domestic abuser Reuben Foster to need to play Sanchez in a meaningful game. Other players followed suit, leading to criticism from US President Donald Trump.

"[There's] not a lot of time to get a brand new QB and a system installed and taught in a couple days", Gruden said on a conference call with reporters Tuesday. "So he's been talked about and discussed, but we'll probably go a different direction".

"Just football, strictly football", Gruden said.

"It's about evaluating the skill set", Gruden said.

Against the Eagles, the 32-year-old Sanchez compiled a passer rating of 53.7, going 13 for 21 for only 100 yards with one interception and one fumble that he managed to recover.
