Instagram head Adam Mosseri attempted to clear up the confusion on Twitter and said the new feature was supposed to be a "very small test" that ended up affecting more users than was originally intended. This includes sponsored posts and ads users may not want to see.

Users even floated the idea of starting a petition to get the feed back to normal.

Mosseri confirmed that the update should be cleared for everyone, and to just restart your app if you were still seeing it. There is no option in the settings part of the app to change the feed back to the original one either. 'The Instagram feed is sideways now and I can't figure out how to post to my Story!' Lorenz tweeted Thursday morning. They vented their dislike on Twitter.

But on Twitter, angry users were tapping out responses conveying their displeasure with yet another update they didn't ask for.
