Not long after the fire, the Lexington Police Department posted on social media several pictures of officers showing their dismay at the loss.

The officers even drew well wishes from overseas, with authorities of New South Wales' Inner West Police Area Command writing in a Facebook comment, "Our hearts are breaking all the way from Sydney Australia!"

Lexington Police officers in Kentucky went viral for their response to a Krispy Kreme Doughnuts truck fire destroying the goods inside.

The driver pulled over after he noticed smoke in the cabin.

The truck caught fire Monday near Man O' War Boulevard and Pink Pigeon Parkway just after its driver had made a delivery in Morehead.

Across the nation, from Colorado to Chicago, officers were quick to respond with messages of support.

The department captioned the photographs with, "No words". "We donut know what else to say".

The cause of the fire has not yet been established.

"We're thinking of you during this hard time...and have more doughnuts on the way!" the company tweeted Tuesday.
