Ravi Ashwin has been given a chance to prove his fitness on the morning of the match but they may be reluctant to select him so Ravindra Jadeja could get the nod once again while Ishant Sharma is ruled out with injury so Umesh Yadav is believed to be the likely replacement for him.

But the Board of Control for Cricket in India released a 13-man squad, including Ashwin and excluding paceman Ishant Sharma, two hours later and said it would be trimmed before the toss.

Answers to these and more as Cricket Analyst, Mr Ashutosh Paibhale discusses the Sydney Test in detail. He, more than anyone else, will be focused to correct this, "Kohli said on the eve of the final Test".

"It's unfortunate that he's had two niggles that are quite similar in the last two away tours", skipper Virat Kohli had said.

With the pace trio of Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Umesh Yadav, the two spinners will in all likelihood bamboozle the Australian batsmen.

Since the Border-Gavaskar Trophy came into existence, India and Australia have played 14 Test series, out of which eight were played in the Asian country.

"The physio and trainer have spoken to him about what he has to do".

"He's very important for sure. Honestly, you can't predict an injury, when it happens you just manage and doing what he can to get over that injury". "In his absence, Vihari has bowled beautifully". "We want to be able to take that legacy forward and play the kind of cricket we have played in this series, which has been exciting for people to watch as well as for both teams competing", Kohli added.

"Whilst there is going to be times that Mitch is going to go out and have to score runs at No 6 from 4-60, you'd hope he isn't going in then as often as he is at the moment under that sort of scrutiny", Paine said. That's one of the discussions we'll be having today, if we think India will go that way and if they are, are we prepared to bring him back in. There were also several pow-wows within the camp: before the net session began, Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane had a long chat with Sanjay Bangar, the assistant coach and following the session, Kohli was seen in discussion with the support staff.

The Ashwin U-turn was not explained, although there was speculation that Jadeja may also not be fully fit.
