Steelers HC Mike Tomlin doesn't close door on coaching changes

According to a report by Jordan Heck of the Sporting News, Brown stopped following the Steelers on Instagram and started following the 49ers, along with several of their players, making it evident that there is a rift between him and his current team.

When asked if Brown and Ben Roethlisberger had a confrontation during Wednesday's practice, Tomlin didn't hesitate.

During team practise on Wednesday Brown, 30, is said to have become "disgusted and thrown a football in anger" at his teammate, reports the Pittsburg Post-Gazette.

Brown missed multiple practices and meetings leading up to the game against the Bengals and he is also said to have missed Monday's exit meetings.

I understand nobody wants to be criticized and Brown has been on the chopping block all week, but to call a former teammate something that severe is over the line.

But more details about that incident have leaked, with's Ian Rapoport reporting that after the dustup Brown yelled something like "I'm done, why don't you just trade me already".

With such a high salary in 2019, and a clear disgruntlement between Brown and his quarterback, could the Steelers be persuaded to trade him for the right price? "I will certainly talk to him".

It seems unlikely that Steelers will trade Brown, and even more unlikely that the Steelers would trade him to the Browns. Citing sources, the paper reported Brown did not appear on the field during the team's last game Sunday against the Bengals and left the stadium at halftime. I am divinely blessed with free will.

"I'm obviously not the coach or the owner, so I'm not sure what's going to happen", Roethlisberger said. "I know guys that are frustrated".

With the Steelers underperforming this year, failing to make the playoffs in a season in which they had Super Bowl hopes, there's a lot of blame to go around.

"When you lack success, when you fail, change is a part of it", Tomlin said.
