Variety has reported that the Grammys have lost out on having one of the most popular artists today perform at their show after a disagreement.

According to insiders close to the situation, Ariana Grande was offended when the Grammy committee objected to her performing "7 Rings" at the ceremony.

After some heavy negotiation, they eventually approved of the tune, as long as it was part of a medley songs and they insisted on selecting her second song.

Grande, whose album "Thank U, Next" drops Friday, is nominated for best pop vocal performance and best pop vocal album.

The 26-year-old singer has made a decision to pull out of the awards show after she had a disagreement with the producers, a source tells Variety.

The singer's alleged withdrawal is little bit awkward since she has been featured on billboards promoting the show all over Los Angeles.

Even without Grande, the Grammys' confirmed list of performers include Miley Cyrus, Janelle Monáe, Kacey Musgraves, Brandi Carlile, and Cardi B. Oh, and Post Malone and Red Hot Chili Peppers will be doing something together.

She is also planning on dropping a brand new album on 8 February - two days before the ceremony - which has been teased by two tracks that have broken records everywhere, Thank U Next and 7 Rings.

7 Rings was played a record 15 million times in its first 24 hours on the music streaming service Spotify.

ET Canada have reached out to Grande's rep and a Grammys spokesperson for comment.
