This week, Epic has introduced us to Fortnite Season 9 - and there are a lot of surprising new additions to the game with this big update. According to Fortnite's Official image of the map, the Volcano sat is called Pressure Plant.

As always, there's also a new Battle Pass available right now for 950 V-Bucks, offering 100 levels and over 100 rewards to unlock such as skins, emotes, pets, and more.

When does season 9 begin? Players get to see a cinematic overview of what this ninth season will be.

Like Season 8, Epic is trying to provide more unique and interesting ways of navigating the map (especially due to the controversy that the X-4 Stormwing caused).

Out of the ashes and ruins of Tilted Towers and Retail Row - both of which were destroyed by the volcano - come Neo Tilted and Mega Mall. Called Slipstreams, these circular contraptions will have you whizzing around the map using wind power.

Fortbyte #24 has been added to Fortnite and this another collectible that you can grab if you can find it. As the introduction trailer illustrates, a "time-lapse" has occurred, in which two Fortnite characters take shelter in a bunker to escape the volcanic eruption and are later discovered by "futuristic" inhabitants of a new and improved Tilted Towers.

You can read everything we know about these mysterious new tasks below - and if you commit to finishing them throughout the Season, you may just bag yourself a new skin. So maybe you will have to explore some other places to loot and to entrap other players, so that you can survive till the end. In this game mode, you can play with three player squad.

Maybe Epic Games want Fortnite season 10 to run for a few days at least before the start of the Fortnite World Cup to iron out any possible kinks.

The first unlockable skin in the battle pass also gives access to another skin, which looks like what would have happened to Jonesy if you'd left him alone on a desert island for several years. Only a handful of simulations exist today, more will be added over the course of the season. Yes, really you've got to go proper south-west, nearly off the grid entirely. It's an impressive beard, but perhaps not the most elegant look.
