The drier weather, however, will be short-lived as widespread severe weather is expected to return to the Kansas City region Tuesday.

Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy with strong/severe storms possible by afternoon.

If you have outdoor plans this evening, keep an eye to the sky and the WYMT Weather App.

"It depends upon the showers and thunderstorms that move through as to how much rain falls". Southerly winds will gust to around 30 miles per hour at times throughout the day. Storm threat diminishes late tonight, after 10 pm. This area of high pressure kept the rain, storms and severe weather away from the ArkLaTex and a bubble of hot and humid air over the area. Lows in the mid 60s-around 70. Wind: S 15-25; gusty. Afternoon highs top out in the middle 70s before stormy weather arrives. Any storms leftover in the morning could affect how the atmosphere recovers so this will need to be looked at closely throughout the day tomorrow.

All severe weather threats are in play today. Highs on Tuesday top out near 80.

Lows in the 50s to end the week with highs in the upper 70s-low 80s will go with mainly dry conditions.

A few showers linger into early Wednesday, but at least we're back to near seasonable temperatures...then, 80° Thursday with a spotty afternoon thunderstorm.
